WELCOME!

Dear friends,
We are promoting the candidacy of Barack Obama for the presidency of the United States.
We will face objections from two camps:
  • The conservatives, who feel that any movement for peace between Iran and the United States implies a capitulation to the Islamic Republic. We believe the exact opposite is true: The American warmongers and neo-conservatives and the Islamic Republic's warmongers need and reenforce each other. Placing the relationship between these two countries on a rational basis will mean an opening up of Iranian society, as the rationale that Iran is under threat of Western aggression is taken out of reaction's arsenal.
  • The leftists who believe that Obama is going to follow more or less the same war-mongering policies as Bush & Co. Although we have grave misgivings about much of what Obama says, we believe that an Obama presidency will mean a qualitative improvement in Iranian-American relations.
We look forward to a dialogue with those who disagree with us. We only ask them to respect عصمت قلم--the purity of the pen--and conduct themselves in a spirit of dialogue. Feelings run high on all sides, but we want to generate light and not heat.
Finally, the logo of our group is designed by Ostad Ali Reza Darvish. You are welcome to use the artwork to further Obama's candidacy or purchase buttons from us. Contact us at
Iranians4Obama@gmail.com.
Buttons are $2.00 a piece, plus postage (add 15% in the US).

Gentlemen
The correct expression for “respectful writing” in Persian/Farsi is عفت قلم and عصمت فلم is not common in our language. This small detail might give a reason to your opponents to laugh or satirize your website.

Regards

They're both used. Do a Google search.
But thanks anyway.

Thanks for this site. It is a great perspective, and I look forward to following it. Also, I think you can dismiss the moron blogger with the links. (At least, I hope you can.)

Their moron bloggers are some of our strongest assets. Trouble is, they aren't capable of realizing it.
I visited your site. Very informed. I hope our readers will visit it to get an insight into Turkish politics.
Please keep commenting.

If Iranains are smart, then they will listen to the veteran master George Calin when it comes down to voting in this country: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0u6lCBnRoHQ

Then they'll get what their enemies want.
Hope your family back home has a good bomb shelter.

How, exactly, do you think that Obama sitting down with Ahmadinejad or Khamenie (if he's given the chance), is going to free Iranians from this murderous regime?

Yes, we do. Contact us at iranians4obama@gmail.com

The first answer is, It won't free them from this murderous regime. It will keep the United States from doing to Iran what it's already done to Iraq. We don't need a policy of "bomb Iran".
Second, what would the alternative accomplish? We've seen the results after eight years of Bush. It's done nothing but strengthen the Iranian hardliners. A policy of dialogue will remove the crutch it they've been leaning on--blame the Americans for everything--and give more democratic forces room to grow. Republican rule in the US missed an excellent chance of engaging with Hojjatoleslam Khatami and showing the Iranian people that he could accomplish something by pursuing a more humane (if far from perfect) policy. Would the US (and the world) have been better off if it had slammed the door in Gorbechav's face because he was still a Communist and was guilty of atrocities?
Finally, as patriotic Americans, we don't want to see America bogged down in a pointless adventure in Iran. Do you really think that a policy of aggression will come at no cost? The Islamic Republic has plenty of tools to inflict some real pain on America if she were to attack Iran or pursue a policy of regime change. Consider what would happen if the Iraqi Shia were called on to wage a jihad against the American forces. An attack on Iran would turn Iraq into an ocean of fire, and everyone knows it. I somehow doubt that "wondering" has any skin in that game.
America has much more to gain by leading by example pursuing its interests through dialogue and compromise.
To open the Iranian knot requires patience, subtlety, and finesse and not brute force.

Obama wants to negotiate with Mullahs, number one enemies of Iranian people, identity, culture and heritage. Don't you think he is doing a disservice to Iran and Iranians?
